Different types of creams for different skin types

It is at the front of facing everyday bad weather, our skin deserves to take care. Much more than  a question of aesthetics, maintaining your skin well is above all. And allowing the body to adequately fight climatic conditions with the help of types of cream.

It is not easy, however, to find your way in front of the wide choice which offers to us. Not only is there a wide variety of ranges and brands, but we must also make our choice between types of cream whose prices vary.

In reality, unless you have severe skin problems, it is possible to get by without emptying your bank account and spending a few sleepless nights wondering which types of cream is the right one. But above all, a fundamental question is essential. What is your skin type?

The Importance of Knowing your Skin type

Most importantly, first, need to the kind of skin before choosing a cream. Indeed, it will only be effective if it is ideally suited to your skin and its specific needs. Choosing a product without taking these needs into account could even be harmful to your epidermis and weaken it further.

The natural products available in the marketplace aim the three most common skin types:

  • Normal skin
  • Combination to oily skin
  • Dry skin

Normal Skin

Although its name suggests otherwise, it is infrequent to find healthy skin in adults (it is found more often in children).

Combination to Oily Skin

The majority of people would have a “mixed to oily” type of skin, requiring products adapted to this condition.

Dry Skin

Dry skin, on the other hand, is more prone to allergic reactions, and an essential moisturizer is often not very useful.

Cleaning

In all cases, it is essential to scrub your skin beforehand with a sea of spa oil scrub which will rid it of dirt (pollution, makeup, etc.) accumulated during the day and allow it to absorb the cream better.

If you wear sunscreen and makeup daily, it’s a good idea to use a facial cleansing oil or facial cleanser that gently removes makeup, dirt, impurities, and excess oil without stripping your skin’s moisture and disrupting its pH balance. Look for a cleansing oil or facial wash that suits your skin type, and do the 24-hour test to ensure it’s the right product for your skin.

Moisturizers

Moisturizer is the basis of skincare. It is to the skin what water is to the plant. It is that gives it vitality and strength and allows it to regenerate. With the help of a good moisturizer, sebum, this natural secretion produced by the sebaceous glands, and sweat can play their essential roles: protecting the skin against pollution and climatic conditions that affect its fragile balance.

We will choose a reasonably light one with a minimum sun protection index (SPF) of 15, in both summer and winter. A light day type cream will also facilitate your morning makeup routine. For the night, you will need a more oily cream, which will allow the skin to absorb the active elements necessary for its regeneration deeply.

There are all kinds of moisturizers in the market that target a particular part of the body or face.

Types of Cream based on Fruit Acids

We find fruit acid (commonly called AHA, from the scientific name of alpha-hydroxy acid molecules) in all types of cream: moisturizing, anti-wrinkle, nutritious, etc. The main function of AHA molecules is to allow the skin to renew itself.

The process is not new! Already during the olden days, the Romans used orange and lemon acids to treat their skin. These acids not only renew the skin, but they also give it greater flexibility, heal the skin, and exfoliate it naturally. It explains why they mainly found in anti-wrinkle creams.

But as the name suggests, AHA-based creams are acidic and can burn or sting the skin. It is therefore always important to check their pH carefully, to ensure that their acidity level is not too high—these creams to avoid if you have dry or sensitive skin.

Nutritional Creams or based on Colloidal Oats

Don’t worry about those with sensitive or dry skin! Turn to nutritious or colloidal oat creams. The nutritive creams are base on Aloe Vera leaves and organic oil.

Like colloidal oats, these products scientifically recognized to treat eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions. First used in the medical environment, these products now found in inexpensive creams that can quickly buy in pharmacies and supermarkets.

Acne problems, the types of Cream, Friend, or Foe?

If you or your teens suffer from mild or moderate acne, you will find suitable products in-store to reduce the appearance of blackheads, pimples, and boils, or at least reduce their longevity.
On the other hand, avoid oil-based creams, which will only make your problem worse!
If you have a severe skin problem, see a dermatologist. He is the only specialist able to prescribe you a suitable treatment.
